On December 1, 2009, we received word that our success in raising $4300 in 10 days from local people and businesses qualified us for a Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation Incentive Grant of $8000.

| Shop and socialize at Northfield’s newest event . . . Riverwalk Market Fair, an open air, summer Saturday market along the picturesque Cannon River! Stroll along the Riverwalk to discover merchants offering high-quality goods that reflect distinctive local talents and tastes. Artist vendors feature outstanding examples of our region’s fine ceramics, original paintings and prints, and unusual fine craft items. Purchase artisan breads, pastries and coffees, and a bounty of fresh, organic produce and cut flowers. Some Saturdays will offer strolling entertainment and plein air art. It’s a family-friendly event with the ambiance of a European riverfront fair!

Weather permitting, our 2010 season will run every Saturday morning from June 5th through October 30th, with the exception of September 11th, when Northfield hosts Defeat of Jesse James Days. Market Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Riverwalk Market Fair is located in Northfield, Minnesota along the Cannon River between Second and Fifth Streets. Artist stalls will be found on the east side riverwalk; produce and artisan foods may be purchased in the adjacent Water Street public park along the river, near Bridge Square and opposite the Northfield post office.
Charming, historic Northfield features ample opportunities for shopping, dining and entertainment, and is home to two fine liberal arts schools, Carleton College and St. Olaf College. State Highways 19 and 3 intersect in Northfield and connect the city with Interstate 35 on the west and U. S. Highway 52 on the east. Distance from the Twin Cities is approximately 40 minutes by car.
